Tim Ritchie

Tim Ritchie has been involved with sound since he started a radio career in 1976 at the ABC youth station, Double Jay. He worked there (and Triple J) as a presenter until 1990, then in 1992 became the Music Director at ABC Radio National.

A few years ago he took up early morning cycling (having never cycled before). And started to use his phone to document Sydney in the early hours. He moved on to a better camera and kept cycling and taking photos 6 mornings a week. It was done more for fun than anything. And while it is still fun, his chronicle of Sydney City has turned into a passion and social media phenomenon.

Many thousands of photos later, he has built up a portrait of the city he loves that surprises many, even those who call Sydney home.
